Are you new to the Works Council and want to quickly understand what the WOR (Works Councils Act) means in practice?
Join our Works Councils Act training on 2 April 2026. A practical, one-day course on employee participation and the WOR. Step by step, you’ll learn about your rights and powers and how to apply them effectively in your role as a Works Council member.
What you’ll learn
After this training, you will:
- Understand what employee participation means and how the Works Council operates.
- Know the key powers and articles of the WOR.
- Understand the procedures for advisory and consent requests.
- Have practiced with real and recognizable workplace situations.
Practical and directly applicable
The training offers an accessible mix of theory, examples, and exercises.
You won’t just learn what the law says, you’ll learn how to apply it directly in your role as a Works Council member.
Programme
09:30 u – Start of the training
Welcome with coffee and tea, introduction to the programme, participant expectations, and a short round of introductions.
10:00 u – The Works Councils Act (WOR)
Together we’ll review the key elements of the WOR, using both a presentation and the legal text itself.
11:00 u – The five core powers and procedures
We’ll dive deeper into the Works Council’s most important powers. What are they, and how do you use them in practice?
Participants are invited to bring in their own cases to connect the theory directly to their daily work.
12:00 u – The Works Councils Act in practice (Part 1)
Knowledge of the law is essential — but practice can be challenging. Through several exercises, you’ll learn how to find, interpret, and apply the law effectively in real situations.
12:30 u – Lunch
13:00 u – The Works Councils Act in practice (Part 2)
We’ll continue applying the law to practical situations through additional exercises and discussions.
16:30 u – End of the training
The training will take place with a minimum of three participants.
